Nylon Carpet

Fibre Behaviour & Cleaning Information

Nylon (SDN)

What it is: The most durable synthetic fibre used in Australian homes.

Strengths:

  • Outstanding resilience

  • Excellent abrasion resistance

  • Handles high traffic extremely well

  • Solution‑dyed nylon resists fading and stains far better than standard nylon

Weaknesses:

  • Not biodegradable

  • Can generate static

  • Standard nylon needs factory stain protection

Best for: Hallways, stairs, living rooms, rentals, busy homes.

Why the carpet Fibre Matters for Cleaning

Different fibres respond differently to:

  • heat

  • pH

  • agitation

  • moisture

  • stain removal

  • drying

This is why technician‑level cleaning produces better results — because the method is adjusted to the fibre, not a one‑size‑fits‑all steam clean.
